I've been rewriting the next Cold Song installment because I wasn't happy with it. Tedious work, but it is much better than it was.

I have strep throat so I'm spending a lot of time in bed, on my laptop, writing on Cold Song.

I'm not sure how to write this without assuming that we have a closer relationship than we do, what with my role as a reader being quite passive and unobservable on your part; I've bonded with the work and consequently grown fond of you as a writer.

I do wonder from time to time (like many of us do in regards to people whose works we enjoy) if you're alright, if you're having a good day, and if you're happy. Then for good luck I hope all of those things.

With the recent trauma, I'm glad that you've taken a breather (not that you need my approval) and since I can't comment on a new chapter to say these things I wanted to just put this out there in the ether where you can find it: I really admire your writing, I love what you've given us all, and I hope that whatever you do in future makes you happy even if it doesn't have the end result of more public works. Sending you good thoughts and wishing you and your husband well. <3
