Those are cute! I don't usually do ballet flats like that, but there've been some in bright colors with cute patterns of late that are tempted me. These would fall into that category.
When I was a kid, I hated not being able to find things with my name on them. Sometimes I'd find "Laurie" or "Lauren," but I wasn't gonna get that stuff. So I developed a habit of buying things with "Laurel" on them, though the more I found things, the pickier I got about what I'd buy.
I have occasionally run into misspellings of "Laurel" as "Laural" and that's just wrong. It also really bugged me that when they introduced a character named "Lorelei" on a network TV show (Gilmore Girls), they misspelled her name as "Lorelai" (though it's pronounced like the former). I'd never seen that before and now I've seen kids with that name so it's weird. Unless I'm just ignorant of that variation of spelling having been around for a while.
I am glad you found a day brightener and that there'll be better days ahead.
Yesterday morning, I had the television on while making coffee and starting the day, some sort of crime show. There was a character, the mother of a psychopath, and her name was Eleanor Lang. I was stunned, but I once came across my name in a porn novel, too.
Cute shoes Ellie, I like the other prints as well. For some reason people tend to (mis)-spell my name by adding an unnecessary 'e' so I don't think I've ever found anything with my name on it. But I'd wear shoes that said Ellie! Big puppy smoochies, Anon
I like some of the other prints, too, but I didn't know they existed until I got home and looked online; the shop had the rhinos, and only the rhinos, at least in my size. I'm thinking that they're perfect dog walking shoes, and I'll find out in just a few minutes!
I know what you mean about frugality; ironically for me, that doesn't seem to count for vehicles. I guess because I always end up selling them for at least (usually more) than I paid, and, well, they're practical.
