After this morning's episode with unauthorized cat pee and my tool box, I spent the day making order out of chaos in the utility "room," a windowless 4X8 space with what might pass for a linen closet in some alternate reality. We now have a functional linen closet, tool closet, coat closet, storage space and cat comfort station, all in the one ( Read more... )

We keep meaning to get a child get, never remember when we're someplace that sells them. Still, this is working, and eliminates the issue of where to store the cat carriers.

OT - curious to know if you've visited the Isamu Noguchi museum in Long Island, NY? I'm doing a 5-minute talk for my docent training and I'm interested in finding first-hand experiences.

I'm afraid I've never been there, although I can tell you about many other museums in New York that are off the beaten path. BTW, it's not in Long Island, per se, which technically is a large (100 mile long) land mass to the east of Manhattan, but generally refers to Nassau and Suffolk counties, outside of city limits. Long Island City is a neighborhood in Queens, right across the East River, and I believe that the museum is on the Long Island City/Astoria border.

Thanks for the heads up about where the museum is actually located. I'll note it in my background information for my talk...

I'll keep you in mind for any other "off the beaten track" museums in your area. I think it helps to personalize the talk with info from people who have actually been to a particular museum.

Have a good weekend!
Susan
