A veil was born

This is the second try at the goffered veil and I do say this one worked!  Just cartrige pleating a strip on the front edge does not work well, the ruffle turns straight up and you don't see the edge of it.  I would have liked one or two more ruffles, but this will do :)

Nice work!

I thought I read somewhere that the variable shrink rates of certain fibers were used to make the ruffles of a piece with the body of the veil. Can't think where I read that though... :/

(Not that you want to go through all that; just remembering is all... Yours looks great!)

I think there were many ways to skin this cat! :) Through tension or shrink I dunno how exactly they did it. But I do know that there is one early 15th century remark about this veil " there was no seam " To me this means that there could have been a seam at the ruffle, otherwise why would the lack of seam be remarkable... hum... makes you think!!! :)
