Oh man. Wow.

Not that it makes you feel any better, but as someone who is a road warrior out of DFW, I can tell you that delays there are NOT a rare occurrence. It's not as bad as NYC, but pretty darned close. What a place to have to connect!

That just plain sucks. I can't believe they tried to get out of hotel rooms by blaming it on the weather, after telling you there were mechanical problems. How much would it have cost, really, compared to losing customers forever?

Oh, I DESPISE American Airlines with every fiber of my being. I avoid it at all costs. Their customer service is deplorable. My sitter, Kelly, had to go to war with them a few months ago after they charged her $700 for a flight change after telling her they were charging her $100.

What a nightmare. I hope you get your luggage back soon.

Unreal...your experience, as well as a similar one that a friend had when trying to get to Peru, have made me rethink the whole travel insurance thing. Hope your bags make it back soon.

I can only imagine how livid Chris is, and I know if it was me, it would be hard to repress the slightly smug 'see, I TOLD you this trip was a bad idea".
