actually my degree is in political science. but i ended up realizing what i wanted to do was what they've been calling 'political economy.' it's basically just intuitively about the connections between the two fields and the emphasis on their symbiotic relationship.
but yah, to me, the social aspects of economics are the MOST fascinating. when you study it, all the pre reqs feel like you're learning hard science, but what all the advanced degrees encourage is the more creative, paradigm-shifting ideas about societies and communities and lifestyles.
so exciting that you're going back to school, doc :) keep me posted about that...
