I cut about half of my f'list after I announced my diagnosis. I figure the people who didn't respond after awhile were either uncomfortable hearing about it or just didn't care. If you want to be readded, I will put you back on, but most of my LJ-ing lately is health-related. I refuse to have to make an LJ filter for something so big in my life right now, so it's kind of monotonous and occasionally gruesome and/or depressing over here. I miss you, though.

Hi! We used to chat back in the days of Hannibal.

Hey, is this Liz? I have to go to bed soon so I only got to do like half the LJ-reading research I usually do, but if you're Liz, then hi! What are you up to these days?

(If by some chance you're not who I think you are, forgive me - I chatted with a lot of people back then.)

Yes, this is Liz.

I'm actually married now and back living in Texas.... things didn't work out with the guy from Minnesota.

Just working on my degree and being mommy/wife. I married a St. Louis native.

What's up with you?

Let's see... I moved to Massachusetts after graduation to be with Michele, lived there for three years, then we moved to New Hampshire for a year. That's pretty much where the good stuff ends ( ... )

Happy Birthday *hugs* I've been wondering how you are lately, so I just thought I'd drop a line. I hope you celebrate accordingly! I'd very much like to friend you again, but if you're still keeping the journal fairly closed down, that's fine. I do miss you, though :)

Thanks. The birthday was spent hearing not-bad-but-worrisome news at Washington University's neurological department, but it was finished with a lovely dinner with Michele at Red Lobster (the best I can do around here for seafood) so the day was pretty much saved. Said news from Washington University changed into good news a few days ago with a confirmation diagnosis, so things have turned out okay in that respect. Now all I have to do is learn to stand my family. Never gonna happen, right?

I miss you too. I'm sorry I took so long to respond - I've been doing less and less online lately, half because I feel rotten all the time and half because I'm sick of people. My journal is not so much closed down as just friended with people who I know I'm (mostly) not annoying with my near-constant chronicling of my medical adventures.

If you want to add me back again, I'd be very happy about it. I've added you back, too.

I'm so glad to hear that things haven't turned out badly for you health-wise, as right about the time we lost contact was right about the time everything seemed to go ker-blooey for you, and I was very concerned *hugs* Red Lobster isn't so bad, I find - it's about all there is for Seafood in my part of Pennsylvania, too, when I'm there visiting! Of course I'll friend you back - I'm about to do that right now :) If I seem a bit disjointed, forgive me; I haven't gotten over the jet-lag of being at an academic conference in Michigan for six days. Traveling this way is always worse than the other way around, for some reason.

(It's good to hear your voice again.)

Hey, I see you have a horned frog book in your wish list! Do you have any? I have two Argentine horned frogs (pac man frogs), and they are the cutest little blobs ever. Blinky and Inky live separately, of course. :)

I do have one! They're my favorite frogs. I had a pacman named Richard - who we nicknamed Ricardo Montalban, being as he's a South American frog - back in 2004. He was my sweet little guy, but he passed away in early 2005 because of two different viral infections. I have no idea how he got them, since we kept at his tank vigorously and gave him his medicine when he needed it to get better. It was kind of a sad experience and I didn't think I'd want another. But just last month I got a new little guy who reminded me of Richard - I was waiting around for one, I guess - and I named him Ricardo Too, since he looks and acts like him. He's doing just fine.

I have a page with all my pets on it somewhere up the LJ - it may be on top, I forget since I'm mostly friends only - so you can have a look at him. They are certainly cute little blobs :D Blinky and Inky are great names.
