Summer
This summer has been flying by in a fit of work. Thursday was the opening of our third exhibition at the gallery, and was our biggest turn-out to date. It is a huge amount of work, and giant financial drain, but totally worth it. We are truly breaking ground and educating the downtown LA populace on science... Everyone is doing it.
So I know everyone is tired of posts that say.. "sorry I haven't been on LJ lately". I seems like everyone took a hiatus, and is just now coming back. But here I am too, even though I haven't really been gone, I have kept up with my FL, but just haven't felt like posting. Opening Up
We signed the lease on the store front for our gallery. Grand opening is next Thursday for the monthly downtown art walk. We put butcher paper over the windows and doors... and signs. So much to do. Amazingly, once completed, we will have managed to move into our new apartment, print an issue of the magazine, travel to Rochester and open a new art ( Read more... ) -
Moved in
We are moved into our loft and mostly unpacked. Magazine deadline is tomorrow. Leaving for Rochester Symposium on Thursday...
So much going on, when I really just want to settle in. But that will have to wait until this magazine is sent to the printers. -
school children need milk
you know what I think is nice? nice in a nostalgic kind of way. Seeing the dairy truck come to deliver milk to the school children. something about that seems so wholesome and traditional. even in such a big, modern city, school children need milk. -
The Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel
In the Eastern Orthodox traditions, March 26th is The Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel. It is a Feast day that honors the Archangel's participation in the in the Annunciation of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Spent the entire day cleaning out the closets and getting things sorted out for a moving sale this weekend. I will be really happy once we are finally out of here, and downtown.
