This sounds interesting. I can definitely relate to his descriptions of the educational system. I've been meaning to read more Hesse.

Of the other books of Hesse's I've read, I think I like Demian the best. The Glass Bead Game is supposedly his best work, after which he won the Nobel prize, but I haven't gotten to it yet, though I did recently pick up a used copy.

The only two I own is Siddhartha and Demian. I like Siddhartha very much.
