Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter has recently assisted an “animal collector” who is losing his home. This man lacked the financial resources to adequately care for his cats, and although loved, they were seriously neglected and suffered from poor nutrition. All the other facilities contacted by this man declined his plea for help.

Our Shelter has accepted 11 of about 30 cats so far, all needing immediate veterinary care, with severe ear, skin, mouth and eye infections. Valentino is pictured to the right when he first arrived at the shelter. Our staff quickly began treatment for ringworm and assorted infections, and administered needed vaccinations.

These cats have amazed our staff with their sweet personalities and gentleness, even while receiving painful treatments. After two weeks of care, love and an adequate diet, the cats will soon be strong enough strength to undergo the dental, ear and eye surgeries they desperately need. This will cost an average of $300 for each one. Once they recover, these cats will make very wonderful pets for their lucky adopters.

Please visit our website at www.njshelter.org to view pictures and descriptions of these wonderful cats, and you can sponsor these precious animals securely online from our website. Your donation today helps these particular animals, but also gives us the power to help other urgent situations in the future - because we know our membership supports this special work.

Your tax-deductible donation to the “Sandie Fund” is urgently needed to help bring these cats back to complete health and a new life. On behalf of Sandie and these wonderful cats, our heartfelt thanks!
