I agree with you about our peers who have that attitude, "fuck I'm in my 20's I'm going to do whatever the hell I want." It seems those of us who don't have our parents to fall back on can't afford the luxary of a wasted decade however, I do believe in the end the forward thinkers are those that come out ahead.

agreed. but so often we undervalue ourselves and don't fully own up to who we are...
it's a shame.

the shame is that we are so concerned with undervaluing what we are that we cannot push ourselves to be as great as we wish to present ourselves.

your position is passive, that the problem is in the perception, and not in the person.
