today i wanted everything in the viva fashion spread, especially that $2200 dress. it was canary yellow. who would spend $2200 on a canary yellow ruffle dress they probably wouldn't wear more than once? (meeeeeeeee!). instead i bought 2m of mustard yellow textured chiffon for $15. it's a pity i can't actually sew. this year i'm going to learn

I used to cross-stitch when I was a kid. I remember being told that the back of the thing had to be as tidy as the front if you were doing it properly. I thought that was totally ridiculous - I mean, who ever sees the back? Especially if you make it into a cushion.
