Summary: Massu's having his very own little piglet!
Notes: Um. >.> This was only supposed to be a drabble. Yeah. I haven't even proof-read it so read at your own risk. XD For ryogrande for shoving the idea in my head and making sure it stayed, and for nanyakanya because I was thinking of you the whole time. <3 "Choko" means "small child" which works because Piglet was a "Very Small Animal." And yes. It's a girl. Because she has to be able to have pigtails, right Ri? <3

One morning when Koyama happily offers a sleepy-looking Massu a sweet bread to give him some apparently much-needed energy and Massu turns it down with a, "my stomach's been a little upset lately," the room goes silent. Koyama's hand instantly flies to Massu's forehead.

"Are you feeling okay otherwise? I don't think you have a fever. Can I get you some ginger tea?"

Massu perks up at that. "Yeah. Ginger tea sounds good." He flashes Koyama a grateful smile and settles back into his chair, closing his eyes.

Yamashita scratches the back of his neck and glances at Ryo. "He okay?"

"If he says he is, he is. Honestly, this is probably good. I think he's been gaining some weight. Don't you?"

They both stare at Massu, cocking their heads slightly, Yamashita's lower lip jutting out as he thinks. "Yeah, I guess so."

"'Course it could be the daifuki with pickled plums he's been insisting on eating the last couple of days. Or the cheeseburger with peach yogurt," Ryo adds and shudders, and Pi makes a disgusted face.

Two weeks later, though, Massu's still nauseated at random times of day, and Ryo, and the rest of the group are getting worried.

"Massu should go see the doctor," Tegoshi says nervously.

Massu just frowns. "I'm fine. I'm still eating enough to gain weight," he says irritably. "I'm sure it's just a case of nerves about… work. Or something."

No one wants to say anything about how they don't have enough work to really stress anyone out, what with Yamashita getting ready to tour and Ryo as well. TegoMass might have something coming up, but nothing's been said yet. Well, maybe that's what he's nervous about. Who knows.

Everyone is a little unsure how to deal with Massu's suddenly mercurial temperament, least of all Massu, who will suddenly do something unexpectedly aggressive before looking horrified with himself and stuttering apologies. The time he practically threw Shige's bento out of the room because it "smells disgusting" resulted in tears while Shige blinked owlishly, mouth wide open. Ryo gets the brunt of it, though, everyone's eyes turning to him anytime Massu's smile disappears like he knows how to get it back. He wishes to god he did, but he wasn't built to handle all this emotional crap. It is one of the things he loves most about Massu, that he is so secure in himself and their relationship that they just… don't do emotional. He might be freaking about a bit.

Ryo leans over the back of the couch, pressing a kiss to Massu's temple. "What do you want to do tonight?" Massu's been moody all day and he's trying not to cringe in anticipation of the man snapping at him.

He's completely unprepared for Massu turning to him with big, needy eyes, and saying, "I kind of just want to watch a movie and cuddle," and looking surprised at himself. "Is that okay?" he asks shyly.

Ryo blinks. He's never seen that look on Massu's face but he kind of really likes it. "Yeah," he breathes. "Popcorn?"

Massu's smile is adoring and Ryo tries not to blush as he heads into the kitchen. They make love that night and it's kind of amazing, all sweet and slow without the hard edge of need that's usually there. Ryo wonders if he's getting soft when he catches himself thinking that Massu is glowing as they come down from their high. Massu's weird moods must just be rubbing off on him.

Soon enough there's word of a TegoMass single and a short run of concerts and it makes Ryo feel a little less guilty about being gone with Kanjani when Massu clearly needs some sort of support.

"Take care of Massu for me," Ryo says quietly, standing close to Tegoshi. "He's being weird lately but he'll be fine."

Tegoshi just eyes Ryo. "Of course I'll take care of him."

"I just mean that his mood swings are strange… and it's easy to get irritated with him, but if you do, he'll just feel more ashamed."

Tegoshi's laugh startles him. "I'm sorry," he says. "It's just funny that you're the one telling me to watch my temper. Sorry."

Ryo flicks him in the ear and stalks off.

It's another four weeks before Ryo gets the chance to see Massu, their schedules just not matching up, and the phone calls are long, both of them speaking sleepily into the phone, words laced with longing and apology. The day before they finally meet up, Massu sounds excited and apprehensive both.

In a way, Ryo's kind of glad that Massu's been so strange lately. In the past he'd have gladly thrown up his hands in defeat and dumped someone for being so spastic, but he's been drawn to Massu, and in order to keep from hurting him, he's had to learn to tame his tongue a bit. So instead of callously barking at Massu to speak up already, he cautiously asks him what's bothering him. "Aren't you excited to see me? I'm excited to see you…" Six weeks ago he'd have died before saying those words in that sappy coo he'd just used. Instead he waits with baited breath.

"No," Massu rushes to say. "No, it's just that… I've been gaining more weight. I don't know why!" Ryo can imagine his exasperated face. "We just finished the lives and I've been swimming every day and even doing some weight training! I'm worried…" his breath hitches. "I'm worried you're going to find me less attractive."

How weird. "Buta, I love you. Any way you are." His body instinctually gags at that but he means it. Well, and he'll watch what Massu's eating when he gets back and help him get back into shape, of course. What else are boyfriends for? But he somehow has managed to find some sort of survival instinct that tells him Massu would throw a shitfit if he said that.

When he sees Massu, the man doesn't seem like he's gained any weight, but his clothing is loose as usual, and his chubby cheeks are always deceiving. But when they're in the privacy of Ryo's apartment and he pulls Massu to his chest, he freezes mid-kiss when he feels a slight bulge that's about half a foot too high to be what he hopes it is. He blinks, left eye twitching a little extra as he gets back to kissing. Massu's like a vine with the way he's climbing him, arms twining around him, one hand tightening in his hair while the other grabs his ass and that has Ryo worrying less about Massu's weight gain and more about the other bulge he can feel as Massu grinds himself against Ryo's thigh.

Massu turns shy as Ryo strips off his shirt, running his hands over Massu's dark nipples and down his belly as he reaches for the button to his pants, a quick pop and zip and they're pooling around Massu's ankles and Ryo groans at the fact that there's nothing underneath. He palms Massu's growing erection and kisses him hard, wants to make him forget about his worries and only think about him.

When Massu's on his back moaning, eyes closed, arms locked around Ryo's neck and legs spread impossibly wide as Ryo rocked in and out of him, Ryo thinks that he's achieved his goal.

Another couple of weeks and Massu isn't the only one distressed about his weight gain.

"I really think you should go to the doctor," Tegoshi insists. "You might have a tumor!"

Koyama looks horrified and rushes to agree and even Shige looks uncomfortable. Massu kind of shifts his weight back and forth and looks torn. "I think it's just gas, guys. Bloating, maybe. When I'm lying really still it sort of… flutters. I feel a lot better than I did last month, though, so it must be on its way out."

Koyama nods. "He was really tired for a while. And you're not nauseated anymore, right?"

"That's right."

Ryo just stays curled up in a corner of the couch as he waits for Yamashita to finish his makeup, pondering.

A few weeks later Massu is freaking out. No matter how much he works out or how little he eats, he can't lose the weight that's accumulating, especially over his abdomen.

"I swear to god, Ryo. Something is kicking me." He starts blubbering. "What if it's an alien? I don't want to give birth to an alien."

"That's it," Ryo says, grabbing Massu's hand and dragging him out the door. "We're going to the doctor."

The doctor, a kindly old man who looks like he's ninety but Shige's mom swears by him, listens patiently to Ryo and Massu, nodding in all the right places, and then pats Massu comfortingly on the arm. "Don't worry." He has Massu strip and lay on the table, covering himself in such a way that only his belly is exposed, while he gets some things ready. His assistant comes in with ultrasound equipment and Massu watches apprehensively. "Let's just make sure it's not a little alien," the doctor says with a chuckle and brings the gelled equipment to Massu's belly and rolls it over his distended flesh, Ryo holding onto one of Massu's toes and staring at the screen.

After a few moments, the doctor lets out a sort of surprised, "oh!" and then goes silent.

"What? What is it?" He moans, "Am I growing a watermelon in my belly???"

The doctor sits back and considers the screen. "Nope. Just a baby. A girl, if I'm not mistaken."

"What?" Ryo practically screeches.

"Ryo," Massu suddenly says through his teeth. "Could you please let go of my toe?"

Ryo hastily lets go and stares at the screen where the doctor is pointing and Ryo can see the outline of what is absolutely a baby. A human one. He promptly faints.

When he comes to, Massu is beaming down at him. "Ryo," he says excitedly. "Ryo, we're going to be daddies!"

He thinks he can be excused for laughing. All the way home. Hysterically.

"Hmm," is Tegoshi's reply. "At least we finished all the TegoMass stuff, right? And Ryo's done, and Yamashita's still got a few months left!"

Shige nods bemusedly. "All things considered, I guess the jimusho will work things out so that Massu isn't doing anything until after the baby is born."

Koyama's busy gushing over Massu's belly and Ryo vaguely hears him asking if Massu thinks he could feel the baby kicking too.

Yamashita laughs in his face when Ryo tells him. "Just because I haven't had a decent night's sleep in four weeks doesn't mean I'm going to believe that you got Massu pregnant. Come on."

He doesn't laugh when Ryo brings him home to see Massu, belly getting larger every day. Yamashita pulls up Massu's shirt ignoring Massu's slightly scandalized look to run his hands over Massu's belly.

"Oh my god," he breathes. "It's true," and turns wondering eyes up to Massu who just grins.

Ryo's met Massu's parents before, but it's more difficult this time, when he has to stand at Massu's side while Massu tells them that they're pregnant. He thinks he wins serious points when he opens the bag he'd insisted on stopping for and pushes a cold beer into Mr. Masuda's hand while Massu's mother gushes over his growing belly.

Ryo's own parents are a little less accepting, a fact Ryo contributes to their already having several grandchildren, but Massu's warm, wide smiles have his father mumbling that at least the kid probably won't have Ryo's bad attitude and socking his son in the arm gently.

Massu keeps up his exercise, happy that his precious swimming is actually one of the best things for pregnancy exercise, even if he has to go so early in the morning that no one else is there, getting special permission from the management after a little money exchanges hands, enough that his chubby cheeks don't get any chubbier and he has no problem with photo shoots as long as he's standing behind someone, his baggy clothes and the way he's taken to standing hiding the truth from more people than he would have believed.

Koyama's always plying him with food and while Massu very carefully monitors what he eats now, making sure he gets the proper nutrients for a growing baby, he always has a little extra space for some of Koyama's sweet treats. "Well, it's okay this time," he says. Every time. And Ryo thinks it's pretty precious, really.

He's kind of worried, tell the truth. Not about how Massu's going to give birth, no they'd had that conversation.

"But Massu," Tegoshi says curiously, "how are you going to have the baby?"

Massu just pets his belly and smiles enigmatically. "Well, it happened somehow. I'm just going to have to assume that some way will present itself."

"What," Shige scoffs, "like a spontaneous vagina?"

Massu blushes and Koyama starts giggling. "Or something," he agrees.

No, Ryo's more concerned that this lazy, lovey-dovey feeling they've built up in the meantime will somehow crumble later. When Massu isn't so needy and dependent. Ryo had always hated that in his partners. Hated having to be there for every little thing. But now he can't stand the thought of leaving Massu alone. Massu and their baby girl. Not even for an hour. He hangs his head and sighs and Massu climbs into his lap and wraps his arms around his neck. Ryo pretends to grunt under the extra weight, and Massu pretends to smack him.

"We don't have to change, right?" Ryo asks him. The question is too vague, he thinks. Of course they'll have to change. They'll have to change every day.

Massu just nestles his head on Ryo's shoulder and Ryo can feel him smiling. "Not a bit," he says.

Ryo licks his lips. "I want one thing to change, though."

"Hmm?"

"Move in with me," he whispers, and Massu pulls back to look at him. "I don't want to be away from either of you. I don't want to have to go to your mom's house to have to see my daughter. I don't want to have to wait for you to come over."

Massu looks thoughtful. "You'll have to move all your music stuff into the living room."

Ryo cringes, but nods.

"Well… I guess you do have air conditioning…"

Ryo smacks him on the thigh and Massu giggles. "I've got more than that, I hope."

"Yep!" Massu replies and bounces on his lap once before kissing him.

The next months pass in a flurry of activity. Moving Massu would have been a bitch were he not an emotional roller coaster. He insisted on packing everything himself and wrote lists of what was in each box before he'd even let anyone touch them. But it was worth it the first night Massu nestled in his arms, back to Ryo's chest, and held their hands together over his belly and Ryo knew that this was real.

Massu spends his last few weeks being incredibly uncomfortable and Ryo spends most of his time running himself ragged rubbing Massu's back or feet or cuddling him or pretty much whatever he wants. Yamashita laughs at him and tells him he's whipped, but when Massu tries to roll himself off the couch, Yamashita's there before Ryo is, steadying him and pulling him to his feet, a protective hand behind his back and Ryo just smirks. Maybe they're all whipped.

Their ninety year old doctor presides over the birth, Massu having long ago refused to let anyone else near him, and the doctor had (luckily for Ryo) agreed, benevolent and bemused smile on his face. Ryo's not allowed to be there for the birth, and he's kind of glad, really. He's never been good with blood, so he waits in the lobby with Koyama and Tegoshi while they wait for Shige and Yamashita to get there. Ryo paces and paces and when Shige gets there, he paces with him. Yamashita is last, of course, but not late to the party, because about thirty minutes later, they hear a hearty cry and a cheer and Ryo is racing to the door, pressing his face against the tiny square of glass, desperate to see. When the nurse comes out and puts a tiny pink bundle into his arms, he smiles so hard it hurts, and watches as tears drip down onto her pink blanket and the other members all huddle around him laughing and smiling. Ryo's right there by Massu's side when he wakes up, smiling sleepily and already lifting his arms to hold their daughter.

"Piiiiiglet," Ryo calls out, sneaking around the house. "Choko, baby, where aaaare you?"

Massu stands in the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee and watching with amusement as Ryo stalks their daughter.

Ryo disappears around the corner and Massu hears a squealing laugh as his four-year-old daughter hurtles around the corner on chubby legs and hides behind Massu, clutching at his pants with her tiny fingers. When Ryo peeks around the corner, Choko hides her face in Massu's pants and squeals again, baby-laughter bubbling out when Ryo picks her up and swings her around.

"This little piggy," Ryo starts, reaching down with one hand to tug on one of her toes, and that starts her laughing again, "went to market."

Massu laughed and stepped up to pinch her next toe, "This little piggy stayed at home."

Choko kicked and laughed through the next two toes, Ryo holding her close and rubbing his nose against her cheek.

"And this little piggy," they both said, "went 'wee wee wee' all the way home," running tickling fingers up her sides and laughing all together.
