KoyaShige (for
beltenebra ) - past lives (bit of angst)
"And maybe, I'll find out
The way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
Well I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you"
He'd missed his chance; he knew it. He'd had days and months and years and decades to confess the way Shige made him feel, like every day was a dream, every minute a precious drop in the bucket of life, glittering brightly at him from every remembered snippet of conversation, every photo, every retelling of something they'd done together. He regretted it, he really did. And that's why he watches him now, guides him from beyond, watching, waiting, steering him to the right places when he needs a hand. He'll make it up to him for now. And one day he'll be reborn, have another opportunity, but he'll wait for Shige first. And he won't miss it again.
TegoPi (for
myxstorie ) - all I want for Christmas
Leader was hard to shop for, really. I mean what does one buy for Yamashita Tomohisa? If he wanted it, he could have it, and the things he wanted but couldn't have (like a long vacation from his diet) couldn't be bought. He barely had time for himself, let alone any of them, and when they did get him he was so tired. And that's when he decided on the perfect present, mouth curling up in a pleased smile when it came to him.
"For me?" Yamashita asked sleepily, peering at the envelope and smiling when he saw his name in Tegoshi's handwriting, surrounded by what could only be Tegoshi's artwork.
"Yep," Tegoshi said, bouncing on his toes in excitement. He'd been trying to catch Yamashita around the jimusho for days and had finally caught him. He watched as Yamashita slid a finger under the flap of the envelope and slid it across, reaching in to pull out a thin piece of heavily decorated paper and scanning across the words, 'One free dinner with Tegoshi Yuya.'
"This is…" His lips curved up on one side and twitched. "Sweet. Thank you, Tegoshi."
"I know you don't have time right now, but later when you do, just call me, okay?"
"I will," Yamashita replied, smiling and giving Tegoshi a one-armed hug.
Tegoshi felt giddy. He must have liked it. Well, of course, who wouldn't? As he stared thoughtfully at Yamashita's retreating back, he just hoped it wasn't next Christmas before Yamashita was able to take him up on the offer.
TegoShige (for
nanyakanya ) - "you're my ocean, I'm your lullaby"
Some people think Shige is boring and Tegoshi will be the first to admit that, sometimes, that's true. But he thinks that Shige's more complex than others get; his many hobbies are just wave after wave, waiting for a crest. Sometimes he tumbles gracelessly off of them, sometimes he rides them magnificently and, though people call him a braggart for boasting, Tegoshi thinks there's nothing wrong with admitting your accomplishments, as long as you just as freely admit your failures. And Shige does that, oh yes (mostly because no one would let him not, but still.) And despite the noise Shige often makes, loud complaints and rude comments, hot air rushing over them, Tegoshi knows that moments of calm are just as likely and he likes them all together, jumbled up. All of Shige's days are the best, because they make him him.
Some people think Tegoshi is a self-centered pretty-boy and Shige is definitely the first to admit that that is almost always true. But he thinks that Tegoshi is more complex than others get; his many layers are more like Rachmaninov's "Romance for Six Hands" and less like Chopin's "Chopsticks" as people seem to believe. If he's self-centered, he's also just as quick to praise his friends, to hurry and raise them to his level because he wants them to know that they're important too. And despite his harmlessly self-centered nature and his inherent energy, there are times when he's less like Tchaikovsky's powerful and demanding "Piano Concerto No. 1" and more like Schumann's "Dreaming," all soft edges and sweet promises. All of Tegoshi's melodies are the best, because they make him him.
Pi/News (for
carmine_pink ) - gorgeous
Yamashita remembers NewS seven years ago. They'd been all sorts of awkward in every possible way, too young, too inexperienced, and how they expected him to be a leader, he will never understand. It was too much. More than he'd wanted. Sometimes he thought that the agency pushed him too hard, to be too many things to too many people. Looking at them all now, seven years later, he still thinks that maybe he might not be the best leader, but he thinks that they've become something beautiful, and maybe the agency's constant pushing has made him who he is - someone constantly pushing his own boundaries so no one else can anymore. He'll beat them all to it; and if all the rewards are like the one he is experiencing now, surrounded by these five amazing people, he'll gladly push himself to the very edge, because it's worth it.
Pin (for
ryogrande ) - taco
"What are you doing?" Pi asked, confused, as he came through the front door and saw Jin shuffling around the kitchen, the smell of cooking meat reaching him.
"What the hell do you think? I'm cooking."
"Yeah. I mean… what? You don't cook."
Jin turned to give Pi a withering look. "I can cook, I just don't want to. But damnit, I want a taco and there's no place in Tokyo with a decent burrito. It's a travesty, I tell you."
"Hmmm." Pi leaned against the counter and crossed his arms. "Well, I can't cook, but even I know that meat isn't supposed to smell like that. I think you're burning it."
"Ack!" Jin scurried over to prod at the meat with a spatula.
Moving up to stand behind Jin, Pi smiled and calmly reached around him to move the pan off the stove. "We'll order pizza," he said.
"But… tacos," Jin pouted.
"Don't worry about it. I'll ask Shige to make tacos for us. He'll research it six ways to Sunday-"
"And bitch about it the whole time," Jin interjected sullenly, and moved out of the way so Pi could scrape the contents of the pan into the trash.
"But they'll be delicious and if you just tell him how good they are, he won't bitch as much, okay?"
"He's actually a good cook?"
"Definitely. Go on, order pizza." Then he trailed his fingers down over Jin's hip and smiled slyly. "We'll see if we can finish before the pizza guy gets here."
Jin grinned excitedly, but scoffed, "No problem for you." But he squeaked when Pi groped him through his pants, and ran for the phone. He guessed the taco idea had worked out, after a fashion.
Koyama, Yoko (for
lastingdreams8 ) - sharing Ryo
When Yoko came looking for Ryo, he was a bit surprised to find him curled up in Koyama's lap, fast asleep, Koyama's hand resting on his waist while the other held a book.
"They're starting to merge," Yoko whispered, and Koyama startled a bit, glancing down at Ryo first to make sure he hadn't woken, before lowering the book to the arm of the couch and smiling up at Yoko.
"What?"
"Your Ryo and our Ryo. I watched your con dvd and your unplugged thing. He looks comfortable."
Koyama smiled down at Ryo. "Yeah."
Both of them stared at him a moment and then Yoko asked, "Can I dump water on him?"
"Eh? No!" Koyama said loudly and Ryo slitted his eyes open and frowned at the room in general.
"I heard that, Yoko," he slurred and then poked Koyama in the side before settling back down.
"But you spoil him more," Yoko said with a grin. "Tell his highness to call me when he has a free moment," he said and left Koyama placatingly stroking Ryo's hair as he picked his book back up.
ShigePi (for
rockthecliche ) - paperback writer
Yamashita didn't read a lot. To be fair, he didn't really have time - he was a very busy man. But there was one author he always made time for, often re-reading his books between photo shoots for modeling jobs or drama roles. The author was young, he knew (he could and did use Wikipedia) and had only been publishing for five years. His books ran the gamut from intellectually stimulating to uproariously funny, and often a combination of both, and there was just something in the man's tone that kept him coming back for more.
He was reading one on the train when suddenly the man next to him cleared his throat and gestured toward the book. "You like it?" the man asked, and Yamashita nodded distractedly before looking up and then froze.
The man smiled awkwardly at him and Yamashita blinked rapidly and then, "Would you sign it for me?"
Kato Shigeaki, The Kato Shigeaki, blushed and pulled a pen out of his bag, taking the book from Yamashita's limp fingers and started writing. His handwriting was less neat than Yamashita expected from someone who wrote for a living, and he was left-handed, and he smiled to himself as Kato finished his inscription and closed the book, pressing it into his hands.
"I um. I really like your underwear. I mean. Your work. Calvin Klein. Um. Your dramas. Oh god," Kato said, blushing harder, and Yamashita grinned. "This is my stop. It was nice meeting you," he blurted out, and pushed his way through the passengers.
His heart was fluttering wildly as he watched Kato leave and he flipped open the book to read the inscription.
"From one fan to another, Kato Shigeaki. 03-3792-9087."
He was pretty smooth on paper, but a little lacking in person, Yamashita thought, but he couldn't help being intrigued, pulling out his phone and putting the number in. There was always texting, anyway, he decided, smiling.
TegoShige (for
katmillia ) - "fried chicken" (apparently, as
carmine_pink informed me,
KFC and Christmas go hand-in-hand in Japan, making Da's strange prompt workable, lol)
"Shige!" Tegoshi squeaked, eyeing the KFC bucket on the dining room table, surrounded by mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese in fancy bowls, a bottle of red wine decanted and ready to go. "When did you place this order? You must have really thought ahead!"
"Three months ago," he replied sheepishly. "I wanted to make sure."
Tegoshi turned doting eyes on him. "You're so good to me." "It's what you said you wanted last year."
"Well, all I really wanted for Christmas was you, but this is a definite bonus," Tegoshi said cheekily, giving Shige a quick kiss on the cheek before plopping into his chair.
"Gross," Shige complained, wiping his cheek, but he was smiling anyway.
RyoMassu (for
track_04 ) - dieselpunk
Massu coughed as the smell of diesel washed over him as Ryo revved the engine. "Agh. Ryo," he complained coming around to the passenger side and hopping in. "Couldn't you have waited until I wasn't directly behind the truck?"
"We're in a hurry. If you weren't so damned picky about organizing the supplies back there, we'd have been gone ten minutes ago. Pi needs this stuff yesterday."
Massu shot him a withering look as he shifted into first and peeled off. "And that just proves my point. If I didn't, Pi wouldn't get anything but bent radiators and broken pistons."
"You want to drive?"
"…No."
"Then shut up."
Massu shut up, but Ryo was going to pay later, oh yes. He smiled beautifully out the windshield and enjoyed the suspicious looks Ryo kept shooting him.
TegoPin (for
grydo2life - party crasher
"Merry Christmas!" Tegoshi shouts as he barges through the front door of Pi's apartment, catching Pin in a questionable circumstance with matching deer-in-headlights looks.
"…Why the hell is the door unlocked, Pi?" Jin hisses, trying to untangle himself from Pi and Pi's clingy clothing.
"I was a little distracted."
"Er…" Tegoshi says. "Let me help with that." He puts his bags down on the floor and tries to get Pi's shirt from around Jin's leg. "I… think your pants… fly is down. Um." He looks away, handing Pi his shirt. "The door was unlocked so I just… wanted to surprise you."
"You did," Pi assures him.
"You can uncover your eyes, Massu," Tegoshi says, as Massu steps into the room, blushing hard.
"I wasn't covering them."
"Oh," all three say.
"Well. This is awkward," Jin says into the silence.
"Panda," Massu whispers, and they all stare at him before bursting into laughter and Massu laughs embarrassedly and scratches his neck.
"Well…" Pi finally says. "What did you bring?"
Tegoshi grins.
KoyaSanta and NewS elves - for
yuumei_nata "Koyama. I know what you're doing and you can stop it right now."
Koyama looked sheepishly down at Shige, clutching the mistletoe to his chest.
"And what are you wearing? Did you nick it from the costume area? Am I going to find Tegoshi in his Mrs. Claus outfit?" He peered suspiciously around. "Because if I see Tegoshi's underwear one more time… my Christmas won't be very merry at all."
"Oh no!" Koyama replied happily, tacking up the mistletoe when Shige was looking away, and climbing down the step-ladder to herd him in the other direction. "He's not Mrs. Claus!"
The sound of jingling bells could be heard and then Tegoshi rounded the corner in a bright red and green elf outfit, bells adorning the tips of his shoes, and hat.
"Did you have to be a girl elf?" Shige groaned.
Just then, Yamashita pranced by in his Christmas getup, the male version of Tegoshi's outfit, flapping his arms and singing "Jingle Bells" at the top of his voice, and Shige just stared. "He must be on today." Then Koyama was shoving a bundle into his arms. "No. Just no, Koyama."
But he could never resist the both of them, and even Massu was dressed up (though Shige wasn't sure if it was a costume or he just… picked those colors today and Koyama had passed it as close enough). Ryo wasn't exactly spreading Christmas cheer, but was at least wearing his jingly shoes and hat, and he guessed his shirt was generally Christmas-y, even if the sentiment was a bit off. "I'm not Santa, but you can still sit on my lap," wasn't exactly what Koyama had probably had in mind.
But people were smiling and laughing at them, and even if it kind of grated on Shige's nerves (being laughed at, that is) he guessed he didn't mind spreading a little Christmas cheer.
That mistletoe was going to have to go, though. Tegoshi already got enough ideas as is.
