Is this considered a danger with respect to open containers of LN2? I was trained to be concerned about this exact danger with respect to things such as LN2 cold traps and the like, but widemouth dewers or open styrofoam coolers were pretty much the normal way that I would use LN2 as an undergrad.
The goal is SCFE using CO2; but I'd like apparatus that could be used to try Argon as well.

Do you have the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code? It'll answer a *lot* of questions...
I (paranoid HF recipient) would be terrified of widemouth styrofoam...but I'm the nervous sort. Like at Princeton (LOX)
I don't know the T(B) of Argon...but it doesn't sound like you're open-channeling it...there are some good cryo-stainlesses out there....
