I was a philosophy major, and I hear you on the 'strict atheist upbringing' bit. I was always surprised to find out there was Christian subtext in... pretty much everything.
You're in the sciences, right? 90% of my profs didn't use slides or post notes, which flabbergasted my friends in the sciences. So I'd make fun of them for not knowing how to take notes as someone talks at the speed of light, and they'd make fun of me for not actually having to know anything to do well in my courses. Oh.
Where are you going in Europe? That's totally awesome! :)
I am in the sciences, Nursing major. Hahaha, 'not actually having to know anything'. I guess that's kind of how it is. It's more analyzing and interpreting than memorizing and applying.
I am going to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Germany (not sure where yet), and Rome. And maybe dipping into Poland for a moment to see Auschwitz.
