Got an old Apple G3 today. I've been playing with it like crazy. That's why I haven't been participating much in the community lately. I promise, after this weekend (it's gonna be a busy weekend), I'll be back

Uh, I don't know what kind. I know that it has the 1 gig upgrade chip in it and has 512 mb of RAM.
Honestly? Even a very old and crappy computer will run browsers and email just fine. You just have to make sure that you're running an older OS that won't take up all of its resources.
I do computers for a living, it's just that I'm used to working with PCs running Windows or Linux, not Apples.
Well, if it has the CRT screen built into it, then it is an iMac.
Most of my IT career I have been a Windows admin, but in my current job I have moved more to Macs and Linux. Love OSX, all the good stuff with the BSD in the back of it, but can also run Microsoft Office.
She's not my "lady friend". That means she's just my friend. It's also the kind of phrase that people use when they don't accept your same sex love/lust and they want to bring it down.
Does that G3 have OSX in it? If so, great, but if not, I'd highly recommend getting it. If you're used to Mac Classic, it takes a little getting used to, but it's soooo much more advanced. Plus, it'll run much more software than OS9 would. But yeah... I'm a big mac fan myself (can ya tell?)
Also, it's good to see you're still eating well! :P
I agree. The Classic interface from my point of view was ugly and clunky, even compared to Windows. The OSX Aqua interface is so much prettier, even in non-Quartz Extreme mode.
Plus you can bring up a terminal window and start getting command line geeky :)

I support Windows for my job (PC Tech/desktop support specialist, etc), but I run Linux at home.

I *HATE* Mac Classic and it's why I've hated Apple computers for so long. But OS X... it's simply beautiful. Both in ease of use and in looks.
