Fear Itself

I tend to be suspicious of catch-phrases/sound-bytes such as FDR's "all we have to fear is fear itself" because most of the time they are utter generalizations. Sometimes, however, the fear of a thing is worse than the thing itself. I think one of Huckabee's recent remarks captures the terrorism hysteria rather well ( Read more... )

you know what James, normal ppls rants (the first flaw in my argument) dont make too much sense and are generally classified in the actual category of "random comments that make no sense whatsoever to anyone but the writer themselves"
you utterly fail in that category, bc i actually made perfect sense of that and as usual i just wish more ppl thought like you do. of course, the other option is that i just get it bc i usually do, but i doubt that. now see, that was more along the lines of a rant. not precisely smth for me to be proud of, but i felt i had to point out the fact that "organized rant" is an oxymoron

When I read the beginning of that I immediately thought "I need to point out to her that she often understands me when others don't." And then of course you addressed that point. . .

I categorized it as a rant merely because it was just me venting, I expressed no real purpose
