Has anyone else noticed that all the crew seem to be gone?

[Batou's wandering through the library, examining the titles of the books.]

What a shame.

[Spoiler: She's being sarcastic.]

You sound like you miss them.

The mechanic's useful.

[And the rest can die in a fire. Painfully.]

He's not around either.

This is sufficiently unusual to warrant comment?

Usually the crew are around. The cook is usually in the kitchen, the First and Second Mates, therapist and engineers can be seen every so often, but they're missing.

[Batou's walking along, scanning the titles of the books on religion.]

[Batou called them out individually. Odd.]

That's a small crew for a vessel this size.

[He speaks in Japanese as an side, clearly not to Batou.]

[Japanese]

I leave it to the chef, but I do like eel.

[Fred's gettin' sushi!]

They've explained before that they are running a "less than skeleton" crew, which could account for some of the happenings.

[Batou cocks his head.]

The dynamite rolls are very well done. Do the sushi-bears respond to you?

I wonder where they've gone.

I wonder that and why they are unable to handle these two on their own.

Yes. I've inspected their usual haunts and they're nowhere to be found.

[Batou comes to a stop some distance away, looking at Ace. He doesn't dislike the man, it's just that Batou doesn't usually hang out with tricksters. No, Batou is usually the one called in to muscle through their tricks and put them into a chokehold.]

[Ace is asking for him to come closer, so Batou obliges and steps his normal heavy, measured pace up so he can take the book from Ace's hand and glance at the script.]

No. This isn't in any language I can identify. Looking for more poetry?

[You know, more love poetry to leave as a gift for Batou's lover?]

Yes.

Have YOU noticed the chemical warfare taking place on 13?

Yes. I've no wish to test out how well I tolerate chemicals attacks. Probably better than biologicals, but...

[Shrug.]

I'm working with an eleven-year-old GIRL who's more willing to put herself on the line.

Not so eager to engage when there's an actual risk?

Waiting for amateur hour to finish so real professionals can do their work. If they deal with the threat, then it wasn't worthy of Section 9's attention.
