So. Very. Annoyed.

Today I bought a set of headphones with a microphone attached. I plugged them into my desktop when I got home. The headphones are awesome. The mic doesn't work. Apparently I need an adapter for it to work with a Mac. And there's me thinking something as basic as a microphone port would be vaguely universal. My laptop doesn't even have a microphone ( Read more... )

It's SO unfair!! I'm going to have to go back to the shop now and hassle them! Things could've slotted into place so nicely, but noooo. *sigh*

Phwoar. Definitely eat extra for me. Nummmm. I have Haigh's chocolate frogs in my bag though, thanks to hecticred, so I'm chocced up and happy in that department!

Did I see it? Did I ever!! There must be beachy picnics. :)

Wait... desktop? Do you have a Mac desktop too? AND IT DOESN'T HAVE AN AUDIO INPUT EITHER???
What was Apple THINKING???

Actually... I'm not sure what you're talking about now that I realise this is about a desktop computer. However, I am painfully aware of the lack of audio input on an iBook. :P

Yeah, I'm talking about both the desktop AND the iBook. The desktop has what I assume is an input port, but having looked up the logitech site it says something about the port not being powered in a Mac, where it is powered in a PC.

NOWHERE on the packaging of the headset, though, does it say anything about system requirements or the fact that it will only work on a mac with an adapter. Update later - I'm going back to the shop at lunchtime. *sigh*

Yeah, I already spent $35 on the headset - I dunno that I'm prepared to spend another $69, as appealing as the thing is. :(
