It's currently two degrees at Canberra airport and it was -5 at 6:30 this morning. It's like a frozen winter wonderland in Canberra this morning - a carpet of frost across the whole city basically. Tomorrow the forecast maximum is 5 and they're expecting snow overnight down to 500 metres. Considering that Canberra Airport is at an elevation of 578 m, I may very well be seeing my first snowfall ever tonight.

Not really. We have heaters for taking the chill off a room, but generally we just cope with having to wear more layers living in Canberra.
We do actually have pretty awesome insulation, particularly as we're in the middle level of the apartment block. That said, typically our place is around 10-12 degrees in the morning.
It takes a bit of getting used to, particularly after two and a half weeks in Queensland. :p
