Aeons ago the BBC wiped various tapes, including Dr Who, to save money. I just found one.

I'm cataloguing old David Attenborough quarter inch audio tapes - mainly from Zoo Quest and Tribal Eye. And I've just come across one which has this crossed out on the box: 531 DR WHO "F Episodes 4 & G" The F and G are my best guess, since those have been

Could it be "FF"? FF episode 4 would be the fourth episode of The Highlanders (the story that introduced Jamie) and is missing.

Story GG would be The Underwater Menace, and only the middle two episodes survive.

F Episode 4 would be the fourth episode of The Aztecs, which has survived (I've got the DVD) and G would be The Sensorites, which has also survived. The loss rate is highest in the Troughton era.

It only has a single F and single G, so guess it is The Aztecs and The Sensorites.

Or WAS... given that several productions have used and re-used it since then!
