So I got this e-mail from my mom and of course you can't believe everything you read in those chain e-mails, but some of them sound rather intriguing, so was wondering if anyone out there had tried or knows anything about any of these:

The bananas one is true. Same goes with pears, actually. I learned about this when I worked at the pear sheds - apparently pears and bananas are the only fruits that ripen totally only after they've been picked, and in the process they react to each other somehow
