"As she jumped into the front seat she wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into an unexpected and somewhat awkward hug, only releasing me when I coughed slightly." --> I can totally see him doing that, it's one of those 'That Awkward Moment' things...the little cough at the end... brilliant.
I also liked to see that he's regretting leaving Louisa - he loves her so much that he's prepared to go back on his words:
". Tomorrow was a new day, tomorrow I would figure out exactly how I could get her to forgive me."
There's a pervading ominous feeling to this chapter - the storm, the family, split up into different directions for this 'emergency' (but we still don't know what it is) and scattered around different parts of the city... I can't wait to read the next one...!
