Shuichi tugged uncomfortably at his outfit for the party. There were too many layers, too many frills. The way his coat tail fell made him feel like he was wearing a dress, and the blasted hat kept sliding forward on his head. He stood before a couple of older, portly men who were talking about him, more than to him. The young Ichigo was growing up fast, was along the lines that they were saying. They were sure he would be able to handle the business he was to be entrusted with this year, now that he was of age.

He didn't know what business exactly they were referring to, but he did know he was to start taking on business responsibilities now that his birthday had passed. He was heir to Ichigo family, so it was only natural he would take over the business when the time came. That meant starting young to get used to the way things run. He ignored them as he pushed his hat back.

After returning to the party it was easy to spot Shuichi and Wakashi quickly made his way towards him. Overhearing the conversation and Shuichi's pause to answer Wakashi sighed his ward needed a lot of work and he almost blew it leaving the boy here alone. He was thankful he hadn't spent to much time in the back, he stepped over quickly and grabbed Shuichi by the shoulders and pulled him slightly back to him.

"I am terribly sorry to interrupt you gentlemen but there is an urgent matter my master has to see too." Wakashi smiled politely before steering Shuichi away from the men.

Shuichi allowed himself to be steered away. His eyes were still wide, unsure if there really was an urgent matter, or if Wakashi was just proving his worth. This guy was definitely be beneficial for Shuichi. He was all for anyone that would help him look better than he was. When they were out of earshot, he asked, "Were you rescuing me from a particularly awkward conversation or should I be worrying about this 'urgent matter'?"

Wakashi laughed softly as Shuichi put it together. "More that I was trying to save you from an awkward conversation but I did just remove a female from the party that was attempting to steal."
