OOC: Dream

“You look fabulous.” Said the snake in the mirror.

“Thank you. I think this one shall be the Iris!” He twirled and the purple gown’s skirts fluttered around his legs, swishing delicately. Satisfying.

“Of course.” The silver snake that was his reflection agreed. “It suits you.”

“They all do.” He smoothed his hair as he talked to the snake. Of course the snake was his reflection; there was nothing unusual about that. Or maybe he was the snake’s reflection?

“Are you ready?” The deep voice was gentle, stern, beloved, and he turned around to beam at the tall dark-haired man it belonged to.

“You can’t rush perfection.” Another man spoke, his voice light and teasing. Also dark haired, dark eyed, but not half as stern looking as the first.

They were both beloved.

“Of course you can’t!” The man in the dress took both men, each by an arm. “But I am perfection.”

“What’s this one called?” The second man was a dog now, tail wagging as they strolled. Or slithered.

He was the silver snake-he’d left his reflection behind in the mirror.

“Oh, I was thinking of Iris. Because of the colors.”

“That’s just like you.” The stern man was a seahorse, swimming through the air, staring at him with one amused eye.

“Of course. Perfection is always like me.”

“Could you be less… Embarrassing?” The new voice was a little white rat.

“Oh but I love you so!” He cried, coiling forward to squeeze the rat in a gentle embrace. The rat shoved at him half-heartedly as he nuzzled it.

“Get off.”

They were human again, their reflections had caught up and the rat was a pretty young man, silver hair, annoyed expression.

“You take after me so much! Truly I am the luckiest big brother.” The snake posed dramatically.

The rat-who-was-a-boy glared and walked away.

“I think that went well.” The man with the dog’s shadow commented.

“You shouldn’t tease him like that.” The seahorse man folded his arms across his chest.

“He will come around.” The snake smiled, looked at his two dearest companions. “But don’t fret. I will always be your beloved Iris.” He laughed, launched himself at them both and hugged them as hard as he could.

He could not let them go.
