Gah

So Brandon just had to leave for work. He works from 3:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. I feel so horribly bad for him. I wish I could go with him and defend him against all the rude, arrogant customers that he's going to have to deal with.

I don't understand why anybody would shop on black friday. Are you THAT stingy that you would camp overnight in a fucking ( Read more... )

see i'd go to get a good deal because i'm not made of money.
but i do feel bad for everyone who has to work early in the morning.
i'm here at work today and i totally don't want to be.
BUT; people in retail know that this day exists so they know it's coming.

Yeah but it's not waking up early in the morning, it's waking up and having to have people treat you like you're garbage all day because they think they're awesome. And I mean, technically people just wait 2 more months and save the money? The deals aren't that good. And it's fine for people who aren't rude, but gah. I don't know. And I'm not mad at you or anything, I'm just flustered, I'm sorry.

I think black friday has become a kind of tradition like thanksgiving. I know of some people who are going to try and get a good deal, like my friend who went to Best Buy at 12:30 last night for some deal on a video game, but his dad went with him too. I think that's kind of a sweet bonding experience, waiting in line together until 5 am and then trying to get whatever they came for when the time comes. Of course, my friend and his dad just drove by and then turned around once they saw how long the line was already. Anyway, I've never gone shopping on black friday, but I think it'd be interesting to do. Not to get any deals, but just to experience the craziness.

i dont think it has to do with society being obsessed with money.
i think it is society trying to SAVE money. i dont see anything wrong with that.
if i wasnt camping, i would be there. maybe not up that EARLY, but id go.
because especially if you have a giant extended family like i do, christmas is rough.
and i most definitely want all the bargains i can get.
