took a history of the bible class when i was in college. loved it. in the original greek the bible (the new testament) probably made a lot more sense. and i would imagine the same holds for the Torah and its original hebrew.

i do love this though. i dig it out from the depths of my brain when my 'christian' friends are being obnoxious. its all about love people. all about love.

no one expects me to whip out bible verses like a wang at a urinal, sometimes. but oh do i.

part of the whole christian high school thing... no one expects that either though

but it's like i said to sophie, it's not an issue of religion, it's an issue of equality and rights. not of whether or not your god ordains it.

so true, so true.

i try not to whip out any religion or religious knowledge because it tends to just make people more angry. but sometimes its necessary to point out hypocrisy to the hypocrite.

i whip out religion to counter religion

we had this great class in high school

it was supposed to teach us how to counter other religions when christianity was questioned

but to teach it properly, they first had to question christianity to us. so not only did i learn the hardest questions for an intelligent christian to answer, i learned the answers so i could know how to further counter them.

Words cannot express how much I love that video. That passage is already one of my favorites (we have a cross above our bed with that passage on it), but put with the video it's just even more amazing.

Gah, I wish I was still registered to vote in California...

Oh, don't worry, whenever it hits where ever we're living there'll be 2 votes in favor of marriage out of us!

i voted against the bit in ohio that made gay marriage illegal in ohio. it was a terrible piece of legislature because it eliminated civil unions ENTIRELY. which is awful and terrible. but the wording was so terrible, people came forward saying that not knowing what it was, the wording made it sound opposite of what it was and they voted incorrectly.

I miss so much when I'm away for a single night. Because that makes two days, and if I wasn't on late the night before, that's a lot to miss.

And this, was wonderful.

I haven't had much to do with religion for a couple of months and this was a nice way to get back into it.

Thank you love.

I'm supposed to be doing the CM newsletter and instead, I'm stalking people from the Paget community. ::g:: Sorry? ^_~

I don't usually, but OMG PROP EIGHT MAKES ME SO FREAKING FURIOUS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. I've ranted and cursed and sent my blood pressure through the roof over this shit, so I apologize that all I'm left with is the very inarticulate "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH." :P

prop eight makes me so angry, i got an email today about how the yes on eight groups are blackmailing companies that support no on eight that they're going to smear the companies publically if they don't donate an equaling amount to yes on eight. ugh.

I just DO NOT UNDERSTAND. Why? WHY is this what people are worried about? All that's going on in the world, and this is what our country wants to fight over. ::sigh:: I just can't understand it.

And sure! I'm always up for new friends. ::g::
