So according to JK Rowling, Dumbledore was gay. And in love with Grindelwald.

Answering a question posed to her at tonight's book reading at Carnegie Hall in New York, Harry Potter author JK Rowling said she "always thought Dumbledore was gay" and that he originally fell in love with the wizard Grindelwald

If there was anyone gay in HP, it had to be Albus. I mean knitting patterns, purple robes, flaming bird pet.

And I never in a million years expected to get this... OTPish about a Dumbledore ship. But then we had DH with the interesting backstory and acres of subtext and I went, "Hel-lo." Never thought it would be canon, though.
