I've spent the last few hours in tears as footage of Colin's demise has hit the networks.
As a vet nurse I am frustrated that the government has done nothing to help this whale. Marine experts have claimed that Colin could have survived if they had at least tried to feed the baby. I watched and re-watched the footage of his euthanasia and I cannot

It's very sad I remember my Friend/Landlord telling me he (Well we know are aware it was a "She") and the poor thing being in so much distress without it's Mum I mean I can't imagine being abandoned by my Mum at such a young age but I don't understand why they couldn't try more things?? I realise it's more money manpower/etc..

I don't think she did abandon her. I think the carcus up the coast is the mother to Colin (Or Collete as mum has nicknamed her). I just got annoyed because with my training etc I know the govt are talking out of their asses. If they had given the people a chance that wanted to give it ago (esp the people wanting to give feeding it a go)

Arggg just bugs me a bit.
