Anthropology teaches us that the limits of human knowledge and learning are actually increased by learning from the experiences and examples of others.

Educational models and statistics show that the majority of us learn faster in true collaborative situations where learning comes in the form of give and take.

There is a book I'd suggest by Dr. Robert Rohm that deals with applying the Hippocratic model of personalities in a modern context. The idea is to recognize what type of personality an individual is based upon their behaviour, and to then motivate them according to their individual needs.

What reminded me of it is your mention of fun. According to the book, fun only motivates one of the four personalities. The others are motivated by fun, but not to the same extent as other things drive them.
