This one time, at debate camp....

Sarah Palin is off to debate camp at John McCain's "rustic" Arizona home. Or one of them, anyway. It's interesting that this morning's party line is that the McCain campaign hasn't "let Palin be Palin," and that her problem was being overprogrammed, I guess. So they're going to let her have more public events with less preparation, and that'll help?

I hope the big distracting Alaska wedding happens. That will be so cool. Maybe she'll cancel the Veep debate for mother-of-the-bride responsibilities.

They do have a point about letting Palin be Palin, but I wonder if that's exactly what the McCain people are worried about. She's all folksy and stuff, which appeals to the solid base of the GOP, but there's nothing else there. She's an empty shell that will break if she's knocked around too much, and if she's on her own on the trail, she's going to get knocked around.

She's best used as a ventriloquist's dummy. Everybody look at her and pay no attention to the man with his hand up her ass.

That wedding would be hilarious. No way it happens, though. Not before the election. And maybe not even after if Obama wins.

I think they're counting on SNL being right, when she's cornered...she just gets more adorable....

She does, doesn't she? I still think she'd be more effective if they let her out more, unless she really is just an empty shell. For all her many, many other faults, she's an incredibly engaging, charming candidate.
