I am really, really trying to get the hang of posting more often, but it seems like all the things I can think of are really, really vapid, like my top nine favourite ever songs. Oh well, start with the vapid and work up to merely shallow, I guess =D With youtube links wherever possible. It probably should be ten, but that would be far too neat.
Ayashi no Ceres (Iwao Junko) - Scarlet Scarlet is the opening theme to the aforementioned Ayashi no Ceres; I don't actually really like the anime, but there's a couple of lines that could sum me up quite nicely. Translation from the original thanks to animelyrics.com.
I used to believe without a doubt that I could reach my dreams, no matter how far away
But that me from long ago now sleeps inside my heart
Dreams are more fragile and fleeting than a glass rose
So why then are we destined to dream?
Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon It's all mixed up with my childhood, this one. I had a remarkably boring childhood; we were neither terribly poor or terribly rich, I was neither spoilt or neglected, let alone abused. It only fell apart later, when I was a teenager.
Independence War 2 - Base Ambient 2 It's just an instrumental piece, from a game I've never actually really played. I do not really know why I like it, save for the fact that to me, it sounds terribly lonely. Still, you can always listen for yourself.
Kajiura Yuki - A Song of Storm and Fire Again, an instrumental piece, this time taken from the Tsubasa Chronicle anime. I actually like most of the songwriter's choral stuff, but this is the one I like best. The voices aren't supposed to make sense, by the way.
Linkin Park - Leave Out All the Rest Quite new, this one. I take it as a song about leaving behind something when you're gone, which is actually a pretty calming thought for me.
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score It's a whole movie score in 10 minutes, how can it not be awesome? The refrain also helps it be on my list right now.
Wild ARMS 3 OST - Advanced Wind This one is actually slightly cheating; it's not so much the song I love as the game. Wild ARMS 3 is a bizarrity in that it is a Wild West-themed Japanese RPG that has a coupe of decidedly non-stereotypical characters. I love it to death.
Within Temptation - Forsaken I'm morbid. I fully believe that if there's ever an apocalypse, it will be entirely Humanity's fault. And that's what Forsaken is about.
Jeff Wayne - The Spirit of Man (Damn HP video being the only one I can find).
The Spirit of Man is from the musical of War of the Worlds. It's a reminder that things aren't always as bad as I make them out to be. Also, whoever sings Beth could really put some emotion into her singing.
