Michigan, I’m disappointed in you. A majority vote has ostracized yet another minority group. The decision made by your people has caused yet another segregation based on the coincidental differences one attains at birth. Agreed. And like I said in my LJ, where the heck does this Sanctity of Marriage idea come from? We've got divorve, we've got reality shows about it, we've got infidelity. Marriage hasn't been sanctimonious for a loooooong time.
Stupid country of ours...

Maybe I read Proposal 2 wrong, but it seemed to me to exclude civil unions as well. There was some language in there about any relation that gave similar rights to marriage also being restricted to one man and one woman. Possibly (hopefully), though, I'm wrong.

But, yeah, it's disappointing. Apparently all over the country similar results have happened.
