A mixture of snow and sleet this morning, becoming all snow with a few claps of thunder possible late in the day. Windy. High around 30F. Winds E at 25 to 35 mph. 4 to 6 inches of snow expected.
Stay warm and safe!ladymistyDecember 16 2007, 21:57:23 UTC
Stay inside you!!!!!
Haha, I just saw Syracuse and various parts of upstate NY on more than one TV channels in their news reports. Lake Effect. "Syracuse hit with 3-5 inches of snow". Motorists advised to stay off the roads. Etc.
So you? STAY HOME! Stay home with your hubby and Bob and Google, no reason to go out there in the mess.
We're being hit by it right now. I think power is going to go out very soon, the lights have been flickering.
Ooooh I think I recognize that part of Syracuse!ladymistyDecember 16 2007, 22:05:37 UTC
Just watching the news and saw a reporter named Reynolds Wolf reporting from Syracuse on Marshall Street and it looked awfully familiar. Some of the buildings looked familiar - I think they were around the university, he said. Pretty sure he passed a building that I had asked you "what's that?".
Eep, he says you guys might are expected to get a LOT more snow. 10 inches? wtf? guess that's lake effect. I saw your weather report - how amazing that you get thunder at the same time as all that snow!! Just crazy!

Heh, I'm glad I was able to take you up to the Hill :) Syracuse University is up on a steep hill, if you recall, and students in the adjacent dorms take bets on which cars will/won't make it up the hill every winter. That poor guy, stuck on the Hill in a nor'easter ... then again, he's a meteorologist, he gets off on this sort of thing. Did you know that there are several TV stations in Florida that specifically report on Syracuse's weather? I swear it's so they can all feel so smug as the snow comes down :P
Do you know we got a good 17 inches today here at the house? And no, it's not even lake effect - that's coming later. Poor Bob, his doggie door flap was almost stuck and I had to dig it out so he could go out on the deck! The snow is much higher than he is. I'll have to dig it out again in the morning.
Speaking of morning, it's time for bed ... I have that interview in Utica tomorrow! And Utica is an hour away on a good day. *sigh* This is why I bought new snow tires the other day ...

Oh so I had been there before, with you. I knew it! Yes thanks for showing me. And god only knows how students manage that hill in the winter. Yikes. It's worse than the Acadia University hill that we have and that is saying a lot. I am starting to think that reporters enjoy picking on Syracuse when it comes to weather. LOL!
17 INCHES? We got it bad but not that bad. Poor little Bob. Even Teaa though, she could barely make it outside to pee. I will have to try and shovel a pathway for her. She's so retarded - she loooves snow and when she gets out there she seems to be laughing, like 'mommy! look at me! I'm stuck in the snow!!'. She wags her tail and tries to get me to go out in the snow and play. I have to coax her to come in. It seems she thinks snow = play. Sure, but not all the time and not in the middle of a freakin' nor'easter.
Good luck today in Utica with the interview! Let me know how it went! I'm sure it will go great but just be careful on the roads!

I tried calling but I left a message, you musta been out having a life or something :)
I guess the interview went okay, it was kinda bizarre but I don't think it went too badly. I just wish it weren't 70 minutes away. That really sucks, then again the hours are 4:30pm to 12:30 am, so even with my crappy commute it would only take up 8 hours of my days - which is much less than what I'm dealing with right now. I updated my LJ about it, go check it out :)
And ... didn't I take you up that hill up by SU? you'd remember it, I always do like 40mph up it and you get this weird feeling of anti-gravity right at the base as the car lurches forward to make it up that crazy steep hill. I love that hill, haha. ... well, in the summer, anyway :)
