Iphigenie en Tauride

Gah, I love opera. There is an overabundance of man-love in this one. The entire third act is basically made up of Orestes and Pylades screaming at each other about who's going to die and who's going to go back to Greece-both of them wanting to save the other by dying. Their friendship is so emo.

I've obviously read too much slash.

But congratulations on a new opera experiment! (I'm not having my New Opera fun at the moment 'cos I can only find one record store selling 'classical' in Sheffield and their selection is rubbish :()

I seem to remember that Iphagine is a tragedy that end up not actually being tragic. Which is nice, really.

I was recently been an avowed Norribether's journel and I can't help thinking there's someone who should be writing the libretto to Giacomo Norringtino. Or Norrigntino ed Elizabetta. That's just the last two days, I get it everywhere.

Yeah, it could so easily be slash. SO EASILY. I kind of loved it, but then, I love manly friendship relationships. :)

Norringtino ed Elizabetta. I demand to see it!

It would so work, wouldn't it?

Thing is, whenever I have an idea like that, then every good aria I hear that I don't have a strong image of the setting- and even when I do- I fit it into it. Mad.

*hugs back*

Very mad.

(I have mostly opera icons, but you'd have to have actually seen the operas I have to recognise them).

It is perhaps the one platonic relationship in Greek literature, and even it doesn't escape the slashiness. :)

By the by-how did you get all the way back to this entry? And why? :D

This is obviously an old post but as we are not "mutual" friends on LJ yet, I can't see your current ones.

This is Kristina, by the by...Ella's new housemate. *waves* I replied to a comment you left on her journal, saying that I was going to add you...but then I realized that you may not have noticed that bit since it wasn't on your post.

So yeah...friend me back, punk. *grin*

Hope all is well with school and finances and such. Money (or lack thereof) is crap, isn't it?

Oh, hey! Yeah, I haven't recieved comment notifications in like a year, so I didn't get your message. I'll totally friend you back. :)

Stuff is still up in the air, but I'm attending classes and so hopefully I'll be able to finish the semester. *crosses fingers*

Yeah I'm just giving you a hard time. But that's weird about the notifications. Did you turn them off manually or did LJ just start being weird and not sending you messages?

*fingers crossed* That would be awful if this delayed your graduation and such. No fun at all. At least your professors are being understanding and you're attending class. I'm a bit nervous about school starting for Ella and I. I don't think they'll drop any classes this late...but you never know. Stranger (and more idiotic) things have happened. We'll see what happens next week. :) Good luck with all of your academic headaches. Here's hoping they disappear soon.

Yeah, they just started being weird and not sending them, and when I reported the problem, they said it wasn't their fault. So that's weird. It keeps me on my toes, though.

My senior seminar professor is going to write a letter to the registrar for me, so hopefully that works out. Good luck with your semester, too!

And darnit, I just deleted my own Ichabod icon last night! >:(
