A question for people more travelled then me ...

So, there's a strong chance that I'll be spending some time in Colorado Springs for work in the not too distant future. It seems like most of the flights out there involve stop overs at O'Hare. What would you say is the minimum amount of time that I should allow for a stop over at O'Hare if I want there to be minimal chances of missing my ( Read more... )

I'd say about an hour and a half to be on the safe side. There are multiple terminals spread pretty far apart, and although security usually moves fairly briskly the lines can get long. I've made it in an hour, but if you're first flight is delayed you don't want to have to run to find your connecting flight.

tho i'd say give yourself 2+ and keep in mind that the Chili's there is -really- good.

I have personal knowledge of that from when I flew to Wisconsin multiple times.

I've never had a problem; my flights to O'Hare have all been on time, and if it's a stopover, you don't need to go through security. That being said, there's a bad reputation there, and my colleagues seem to think 2 hours is a minimum safe margin.

Every time I have flown into O'Hare, I've had major delays... in the summer even. Of course, I could also be bitter about getting my flight canceled and the last flight out being over-booked, then getting stuck on a bus for three hours at midnight, going to a side of the town that wasn't near the airport unlike what the Airline rep indicated, and then having my luggage stuck at the airport for two days of a three day trip because the luggage office wouldn't pick up the phone. me, bitter... never....
