When I was in Australia I took this PopLit class. Frequently the lectures would degenerate into the English, three-piece-suit wearing, and Cambridge educated professor going on these lengthy, disjointed conspiracy theory filled rants about 9/11, global warming, and the like.

But, one of the genres we studied was comics. We read this excerpt from a Scott McCloud book, among other things. Anyway, it's a pretty fascinating medium. Although, admittedly, I haven't actually looked at many comics since.

Well, I did get reading a Cal McDonald Mystery graphic novel I found while I was working at Grammnet. But then it disappeared, and I never got to finish it. It set in LA and was about werewolves and vampires and such. But the least believable element in the story was when there were actually people on the Los Angeles subway.
