A/N: I’m so dead for writing this!!!
This one requires a bit of back-story…and by a bit I mean, classrooms are dressing rooms and trees are so awesome that they get their own! :D…. GOD I love performing!!!
Ripley was having a fabulous night.
She was performing.
Despite what the majority of her year, let alone school, thought she was actually quite confident on a stage in front of hundreds of people. Really she was. When the adrenaline started to pump through her veins as she went up to makeup she knew she was ready, even after a whole day of stressing over costume changes, lines, music and dance steps, she would pull it off flawlessly. She’d gotten through half the show, going from munchkin to a few different types of tree and then jitterbugging her heart out.
Ripley sat down outside room 16. She needed to breathe. She wasn’t well, she’d had the last three days of school off because of the musical but she still came back for more.
She hadn’t seen any of her friends for days. She smiled as she thought through the various scenarios of seeing any of them tonight, even though there was only one that she really wanted to see.
She held her head in her hands as not to get makeup all over her costume. Rosy red cheek paint does not come out of bright green fabric easily. She heard hurried footsteps coming down the corridor and stood up quickly to go back into the room without looking to see who it was. ‘Probably Mrs. Scott telling me to get back inside anyway.’ She thought until she was picked up off the ground by the wait and spun around.
“Parker!” She shrieked as she flew around, throwing her arms around his neck and burying her face in his shoulder. “Parker I had no idea you were even coming!” she said holding back almost tears of joy. He pulled his arms tighter around her waist and picked her back up off the ground until the relinquished her grip.
“Oh my God, I’ve missed you!” Parker said as she flung her arms back around his neck. “I haven’t seen you in days!”
She laughed. “Days, Parker. What’s going to happen when I go to New York for a month?”
“Well then I’m coming too.”
“Pa-“
“I’m not letting you go without me, It’s been hell Ripley.” He said as she brought her arms back from around his neck, letting her hand drift over his heart before she let them fall at her sides. Neither of them wanted to let go.
“Well, “ she started. “I’ve got to go find Alice and you, well; you shouldn’t even be up here!”
“I know, I came up to see you.” He smiled the ever-famous ‘Booth charm smile’.
She smiled back.
“Hey, I’ll see you after the show.”
“Yeah.” She replied flatly. ‘That damn show!’
She turned around to walk away down to room 12 where Alice would be grabbing food for the trees. A hand yanking her back round stopping her and, as if it had been rehearsed a thousand times over, her lips smacked onto Parkers. Her arms found their place back around his neck for the umpteenth time that night. They stayed like that for God knows how long. Eventually Ripley broke the kiss and cried into his shoulder, she really didn’t want to leave now.
“Hey, hey, hey. What’s up?” He asked, brushing the hair out of her eyes.
“I don’t want to go.” She said as she wiped away a few stray tears.
“Well you should.” Parker replied.
“Why.”
“Because that’s what you’ll get when you get back.” He said, re-using the charm smile.
“Hey Ripley, get your ass down here! I can’t carry seven drinks at once!” ‘Dammit Alice’ Ripley thought as she gave Parker one last hug.
“I’ll see you later.” He said kissing her cheek.

A/N: That damn bunny has been gnawing at my ankle for 2 weeks! Yes, I was a tree in my school’s Wizard of Oz this year…IT WAS MOTHERFRAKKING AWESOME!!! I cannot express how much fun the Jitterbug was!!!
