Sanctity of Human Life and Govt Obligations

In as much shocking the event was, it was not totally surprising. It seems to be another sign of the current government's inability to protect its citizens or public figures. The real question is whether the public opinion and politicians will be able to get an independent investigation behind this assassination. Indeed a very sad event for all who believe in "Live and Let Live" and sanctity of each human life.

Inability or unwillingness. Though, to be fair, it's next to impossible to guarantee security at large gatherings.
