You know something that makes me sad? that the only time our friends hear about Pakistan in the Western (particularly American) media, inevitably spurring a cascade of thoughtful e-mails, is when a suicide bombing happens. I would love to see a cooking show, in fact I would love to have any of your favorite recipes.
I love lentils, how do you fix them?

you know, we do love cooking and would love to share some of our favorite recipes with you one of these days. I've actually been meaning to do recipe posts. And I'm glad you asked for lentils :-) most of the best-known Pakistani dishes from the region we are in include meat... but since I don't eat (or cook) meat, I can't share any of those recipes.

however, the bulk of the people on the streets who don't have enough money to eat meat on a daily basis eat dal (lentils) and sabzi (vegetables) with roti (flatbread)... some only eat roti because that's all they can afford :-(. Prices of food products are going up here significantly and hitting the poor majority of the country very hard.

Anyway, all that to say, a recipe post will be coming soon.
