The student protest yesterday marked two important firsts in the Pakistan student movement. It was the first protest outside the safety of a campus, and it was the first all-student protest involving students from more than a dozen universities.
Looks like some of my friends are back in jail. After being invited to come to the police station to pick up his mobile phone, one of the HRCP staffers supporters was detained. Well, since Musharraf freed 28 militants on the night he declared martial law, and today, there is fresh news that the militants have seized more strongholds in Swat, it looks like the emergency is going pretty well for them.
