On Racewank, and wank in general

A number of mildly related issues have surfaced on the internet of late; the first is what is now being called "Moff's Law" and basically states "Do not ever comment in a serious thread that people should stop analyzing a piece and just enjoy it" (see: here) and the second is the release of the movie Avatar in mainland China. You have a fair point about the tone of the discussion; I don't think I'd mind so much if 1) There was any basis for these accusations other than that the principals are white and 2) The racewank people weren't so convinced of their own righteousness to the condemnation of all other opinions.

A lot of it is that I'm kind of fed up with these people teasing out every single little insignificant thing to further the P7 theory, and as someone who most people assume is P7, I get a little defensive.

Also, I am uncertain that Avatar is worth watching anywhere but a theatre, but it is definitely a marvel there.

Avatar is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Titanic. If you like things that are pretty, you'll like Avatar.
