(PSH. Not dumb dude, stop saying that! Here's a link to the wikipedia page It could probably explain pop art better than I. The leading artist of the pop art movement was Andy warhol. I'm sure you've seen some of his work before, it's so iconic. I always find it difficult to define the movement because it had a range of different styles that were grouped together under one heading.
I just know what looks good to meThat is exactly what art should be!! The art world is so pretentious, I hate it! It thinks it knows better when it doesn't. It makes people believe that art is a talent when it's not. Art's a skill, it's something that you can work at and get better at. I hate that the obnoxious art world makes people think that they're no good and therefore give them no chance. AND THEN! Hey, no need to apologise -- it's really interesting! :) And I know exactly what you mean. My automatic response to that sort of art is, "WTF? That's not art. That's someone being a cheeky sod! :P" But I guess I can understand how some people see it as art. I just don't believe that it should be given as much merit and respect as the pieces of art that take, what I believe to be, real skill to produce. Seriously, that piece of white canvas with a black stripe down one side? That can't have taken any real effort or artistic ability whatsoever. :P
