Haha, I've been to Maine and it's funny to think of it as small. I learned how to canoe there where I was 11. :P That was a lonely summer. Hrm. Lots of dogs there, though. :D

It does have a pretty small population, doesn't it. Wow, yeah. It's 40th.

I thought it was only 45 left...? 50 states, and the District of Columbia; MA, CT, IA, VT, and ME have given the a-okay, and the DC is headed to the mayor and then to congress. Is my math wrong?

No, you're totally right! I forgot about VT, and was just wondering whether I should count the states that recognize gay marriages from other states but don't grant them. It's just NY in that boat for now, right?
