Movie tickets FTW!

Jun 02, 2009 10:32

I just got an email telling me I now have tickets to see HBP at Azkatraz! HOORAY! I really didn't think that would happen at all. I guess the change in time has made it less popular ( Read more... )

also. in your fandom thingie. Aoife and I were JUST talking about this the other day. How we have our certain authors that we love, and certain types of fic/characters/etc, and how we've been kind of sad our favourite authors have left the fandom. Oh well.

I, for one, did not get involved in fandom through HP, but no other fandom has ever come CLOSE to the love I have for HP and H/D specifically.

Your take on it is quite interesting though. =)

I hope that this movie and/or the new movie either brings some of the great writers back at least for a bit, or some more new blood. Then again, maybe if there's less to read I will start, oh I dunno, actually finishing something I start...

I kind of like the fact that I haven't found many new writers who I can get behind and get caught up with. I've read more real BOOKS this year (as in, bound on paper..go to the library to rent type books) than I have in the last 3 combined.

sometimes it is so hard to explain how much i miss texas. especially when i tried to run so far away when i left. but i have to say even if i never live there again, i think i will always think of myself as texan. and probably have more texan paraphernalia than if i actually lived there.

glad to hear you're doing well darlin'.

I feel the same way... I would never have cowboy boots if I lived in TX. :)

I hope you're doing well too, dear!

Your fandom question is really interesting to me since I am going through that right now. I have always said I'm a very fannish person. It is difficult for me to watch things casually. I tend to mainline whole seasons of TV in one go, but despite my obsessive fannish nature, I haven't felt the pull towards really participating in other fandoms the way I do with HP and H/D. Occasionally I will read the TWoP forums for a show I love, but I won't post. I won't read fic, really. I just haven't felt the need. HP wasn't my first fandom, per se, but it was the first and pretty much only fandom where I sought out fanfic/art. I've only had one other REAL fandom in my life, which was Alias when I was younger (14-17). I would compulsively read and participate at forums and I ran a graphics contest community for a period of time. Then it jumped the shark and I kind of stopped caring ( ... )

decent enough gap in the canon that fanon has to fill.

Totally made sense to me. ;)

*catching up on old LJ entries* ;D

Word.

Are we still "word"ing?

Merlin is the first fandom I've been attracted to since H/D, but my love for H/D is much stronger. And those are my only fandoms. I mean, I watched BSG and loved tracy's parodies, but I didn't read any BSG fic.

Yes, being driven to fanfic from the canon is more powerful, I think. It is really all about Draco, isn't it? :D

Life is so crazy right now. Oy. Good and bad in equal measure. Ch ch ch changes! I SHOULD STOP BEING VAGUE AND POST, RIGHT? *gearing up for it* But first I need to cut this toenail. It's really bugging me... :P
