I took the revised JLPT level N1 exam yesterday.  It was tough as always but different from previous years.

One of the changes was a new grading system.  In addition to an aggregate minimum score, there's now a minimum score for each section (around 30%, according to wikipedia).  Given how low that threshold is, I'm not sure who they intend to ( Read more... )

Oh, I heard that the test now had to be passed in each section, but I didn't realize the section percentage requirements were lower. That's good - I would have been screwed if I'd had to get 70% on kanji when I took it! XD Not that it matters anymore lol.
The reason for the "mark the wrong answers" questions was so when you're taking the test, you can't tell which is the right answer merely by listening to everyone around you scribble on their paper when they say the right answer. ;)
