Discussion Time! So the TARDIS does not seem to like Clara at all. She mentioned it in the Rings of Akaten and I think she mentions something about it in this weeks episode Hide. Now there could be a perfectally good explination as to why, the TARDIS doesn't like Clara, but take a look at Jack and the fact that the TARDIS didn't like him because he ( Read more... )

Hmm. I can't remember how the TARDIS felt about previous versions of her, like in the Christmas special. Would that be important?

I don't think the TARDIS fell out with previous versons of her, she seemed Pretty happy with Christmas Clara, but we never really got to know what she thought about Oswin, since she was a Dalek. It could be important if it happened though.

That makes sense, because the Dalek Oswin never really got near the TARDIS and Christmas Clara wasn't really revealed (to the Doctor, anyway) to be a double until she died.

If she's truly not possible, I think it's like what happened with Jack. Otherwise, I guess the TARDIS could be trying to get rid of her and/or protecting her/the Doctor.

I don't think the TARDIS would want to get rid of her, she hasn't let her in unless the Doctor is there so that doesn't make sense. I think the TARDIS knows, about Clara and why she is impossible.

Maybe not get rid of, as such, but if the TARDIS thinks she's a threat for some reason, she might not want to be alone with her?

I think the TARDIS knows, too -- she knows everything, after all. :)

I definitely think it's something like the TARDIS' reaction to Jack. The duplication across time probably makes Clara something that *shouldn't* exist, and based on past experience that tends to be painful/upsetting for the TARDIS. I know the BFAs are considered only dubious canon, but she had the same sort of reaction to Charley Pollard because the Doctor saved Charley's life when her death was meant to be a fixed event. (And she REALLY didn't like Charley after Charley met the Doctor out of order and created yet another paradox.)

I like this theory - that Clara is like Jack. I hope it gets answered in the course of the series. Maybe the TARDIS is just jealous ;)
