Every now and then some new social network site comes up but I reckon this is my proper online home now that I don't go to CoE anymore. I'm also on Facebook, Myspace and Bebo but I don't want to join anymore - there's not enough hours in the day lol.
Amongst those I follow, some have dropped off entirely or slowed the frequency they post, but for the most part that's just a loss of interest in blogging/journaling, not a matter of switching to another location.
I have found some people just can't blog/journal. My husband is one of them. He's tried time and time again and never seems to be able to keep it going.
I've read a few articles about the downturn in the popularity of blogging. Its a sort of 'those who can do' sort of thing. I don't know if its a special skill or if some people are just a little bit more disciplined when it comes to this. I just know that I enjoy it and for some its a real outlet.
I don't want to leave! I'm thinking I'm just going to learn to be content with my smaller online circle.
Since I've played a bit with my DW account I hardly ever used it. All my friends are here, and I haven't really noticed a 'move'. Fandom seems to be very quiet at DW too, or that's just my 'groups' :)
The young generation now seems to flock at DeviantArt, which I think is weird since I've always assumed that the core interest of DA is art and pictures. They seem to use it to keep in touch with each other instead of publishing art.
I have no intention of leaving LJ, and I'm not going to leave, unless they make things difficult for me :)
I use DW but mostly for super private stuff. I let people borrow my computer while at camp and even though I had a 'guest' account made just for them sometimes they accidentally use my account where my LJ was always logged in. I honestly don't think anyone read it but just to be on the safe side I moved some stuff over there.

Its a lot like LJ except its more fandom/creativity friendly. You need an access code to join...just like you used to have to do here in the old days.
I'm glad you're not leaving. :)
