Okay, it's been in both Doctor Who and Sherlock now, and I can't stop thinking about it. "Gottle o'geer! Gottle o'geer!" WTF IS IT? All I can find that makes ANY (though admittedly VERY little) sense is some album by some folk rock band I've never heard of. Is that it, or does it actually have another meaning I'm missing?

In the case of TGG, Moriarty is basically say "hey! I'm a ventriloquist and John is my dummy." to frustrate Sherlock. And of course, the people in the God Complex were basically dummies, to which is why the Doctor said gottle o' gear (the Doctor said it, right?)
Also, the rock song is making reference to that as well.
